This pre-loved book is vintage in one more year!
Hansel & Gretel, one of Grimms' Fairy Tales, has been re-worked with a "fresh perspective". This means it is a sanitized version of the tale.
Some of the differences in the story are: no Stepmother, children "wandered away" in the forest (rather than abandoned by Dad) and the witch "falls" into the oven (rather than being pushed by Gretel). Although I love reading all the many variations of fairy tales, and comparing their similarities and differences, I have to admit that I prefer the more "grim" side of Grimms' Fairy Tales!
However, this version does work very well in bringing the story up to address more contemporary problems that children face today. The children in the story come to the conclusion they shouldn't wander away from Dad, shouldn't trust strangers prematurely and shouldn't stand too close to an oven!
Dalmatian Press, "Puppy Tales" - 1999.
Very good condition - no writing or tears. Solid binding.
