Sweet donkey pulling a cart!  Seriously, what is with the big bug on the side??  Very kitschy.

This small ceramic figurine is likely meant to hold a small plant, like a succulent, but could also hold toothpicks or other small items.

I have two available for purchase, at $9.99 each and shipping will of course be combined if you purchase both little guys.

My small research has shown me that the time period for this item is somewhere between 1947 and 1952.  There were a large amount of these type of figurines exported at that time in Japan, and it was required that they be marked "Made in Occupied Japan".  The donkey pulling the cart, in many variations was quite common, as well as numerous elves, animals and other small figurines.

Measures approximately 5 inches long by 2 3/4 inches tall (highest point) x 2 1/2 inches across (widest point).

Both are in very good condition.  No chips or cracks.

Disclaimer:  Many of the items sold are vintage or pre-loved. Quality of vintage items vary with the manufacturing methods available at the time of production. They are not made to current standards of manufacturing ... and in my opinion, that is usually a good thing! They tend to be higher quality, last longer and include more attention to detail than today's products. However, safety standards do change over time, items do deteriorate with age, and it is up to the customer to decide how they will use each product.
