"The Story of Karen - Wren" by Marie Killilea.

This vintage, softcover book is a A Dell Yearling Book, 1st Dell printing, 1968 version, Dell Publishing Co., Inc, New York.

Back cover reads in part:
"...It is about four children and their staggering succession of household pets, particularly Shanty, a huge Irish Setter, a valiant character with a talent for mischief."

What I find fascinating is the unusual statement on the inside - "The characters in this book are all real and the situations are all true." Some beautiful black and white vintage illustrations.

118 pages.

In fair to good vintage condition. The binding is strong. The only writing is a couple of names inside the cover (blacked out) and on the opposite page. Yellowing. The cover has the usual dogears and some staining. Two small pieces of clear tape on the binding corners for strength. Overall good for a 52 year old children's paperback.

Disclaimer:  Many of the items sold are vintage or pre-loved. Quality of vintage items vary with the manufacturing methods available at the time of production. They are not made to current standards of manufacturing ... and in my opinion, that is usually a good thing! They tend to be higher quality, last longer and include more attention to detail than today's products. However, safety standards do change over time, items do deteriorate with age, and it is up to the customer to decide how they will use each product.
