This lovely Limoges mini bud vase features the classic courting couple (on both sides of the vase). Wonderful little vase for a single rose or a spray of tiny country flowers ... very pretty and romantic.
The bottom is marked Limoges France (in gild) and some lettering that I can't read as it is partially worn off. Underneath is another stamp in green which appears to say Limoges (with a fan above) - also worn. I have been able to find the green stamp with no age available and unable to find the gold stamp at all - so am unable to determine its age at this time. For some reason, I feel it is about the 1950s.
General Limoges Information
Limoges is a region in France and apparently there were up to 48 factories that produced Limoges porcelain. Their products were of varying quality and value. I have also discovered that any Limoges item marked "France" is post 1891, since that is when they were required to stamp the place of origin on an item intended for export.
Measures approximately 5 inches tall by 2 1/2 inches wide (including handle).
Excellent Condition.
