I found this lovely antique Coalport side plate in a market stall on Portobello Road, London.

Very pretty little plate - genuine Coalport - could be used as a side/bread plate or trinket tray as it is rounded (probably meant to hold a bread roll).   I have been unable to determine the name of the pattern.  Pretty flowers and very generous with the gold gilding (which is in very good condition).

Bottom reads "England Coalport A.D. 1750" - also displays a crown stamp, the number "48" in red and an embossed number I can't read.  I estimate it to be made in the 1950s or 1960s due to the crazing.

Not safe for microwave and hand wash only please.

Measures approximately 6 inches round.

It is in wonderful condition.  No chips or cracks.  Gold gilding is intact.  Colours are bright.  It does show crazing under a magnifying glass which is common in a dish of this age.

Disclaimer: Many of the items sold are vintage or pre-loved. Quality of vintage items vary with the manufacturing methods available at the time of production. They are not made to current standards of manufacturing ... and in my opinion, that is usually a good thing! They tend to be higher quality, last longer and include more attention to detail than today's products. However, safety standards do change over time, items do deteriorate with age, and it is up to the customer to decide how they will use each product.
