Beautiful Antique Limoges A. Lanternier Saucer.
This pretty saucer features sprays of pink roses, gold gilding and scalloped edges. My research leads me to believe it is probably from the 1920s to 1930s and may be part of the "Pink Roses" pattern that was produced from 1910 to 1970. I believe it is properly dated somewhere between 1910 - 1930 due to the back stamp of A. Lanternier in brown. The latter version in the 1970s is a different colour back stamp.
The back has two back stamps: "Limoges France" and a symbol in green and "Limoges A. Lanternier France" in a circle in brown.
General Limoges Information:
Limoges is a region in France and apparently there were up to 48 factories that produced Limoges porcelain. Their products were of varying quality and value. I have also discovered that any Limoges item marked "France" is post 1891, since that is when they were required to stamp the place of origin on an item intended for export.
Measures approximately 5 1/2 inches round.
Good Condition.
