Beautiful Antique EB Foley Bone China Side Dish.
This wonderful bone china serving side dish could be used for vegetables, candies or other small servings. Very pretty pink and fuchsia thistle blossoms with green leaves on a light blue and white background. Edged with gold trim.
The maker is Foley and the pattern is #V2538 Glengarry Thistle. It was likely manufactured in the 1930s or 1940s as this particular back stamp was used by E. Brain & Co. Ltd., between 1936 to 1948, who owned Foley China Works at the time.
Measures approximately 9 and 1/4 inches long by 5 and 7/8 inches across and approximately 2 inches deep.
Great Condition. No chips or cracks. Gold trim is intact.

A little E. B. / Foley Background:
Quick research has revealed that Robinson & Son formed Foley China Works in Longton, Staffordshire, England in 1881 and, subsequently, Elijah Brain became a partner. In 1903, Elijah Brain and his son William Henry Brain, took over the Foley China Works and continued to manufacture in Fenton, Staffordshire, England and began using their own mark, in addition to "Foley" and in several variations: EB, E.B. & Co, or E. Brain & Co. Ltd. In Geoffrey A. Godden's: Encyclopaedia of British Pottery and Porcelain Marks, this back stamp is listed as mark #541 and was used during 1930 to 1948.
