Antique Cereal Bowl by Myott Son & Co. - Rosemary Pattern.
This unique and beautiful antique cereal-sized bowl has an off-white base with cobalt blue and gilded trim, together with an elegant pattern of orange and yellow flowers and scroll work design. Made by Myott Son & Co in England in the 1930s - it is the "Rosemary" pattern. Interestingly, there seem to have been a couple of slight variations of this pattern, so be careful if you are trying to match a missing piece in your set! This is the square, scalloped version; there appears to have been a later round version as well. Please contact me for any questions - always happy to discuss beautiful antiques!
Could be used as a cereal, salad, side or serving bowl ... or as an eclectic candy dish!
Note: Hand wash only and not microwave safe (some hand painted accents/gold gilding). This item was made prior to dishwashers and microwaves.
Measures 6 and 1/2 inches round/square.
Good Condition.
There is a bit of wear to the blue around the rim. The usual spots and bumps in the glaze that are consistent with manufacturing methods at the time.
