Antique paperback: Mystic Manor by Dorothy Daniels, writing as Helen Gray Weston.
I love this old gothic romances. And Dorothy Daniels was one of the best!
Back cover:
"Melinda Marston accepted eagerly when Mrs. Jager, the regal mistress of Mystic Manor, invited her to stay at the great old house. Being there meant escaping the scorn of the villagesrs. Many believed Melinda guilty of the murder for which she had just been acquitted.
At first she was happy. Suddenly a series of "accidents" plagued the eerie mansion. Once again her reputation was at stake.
Determined to save her name - and her sanity - even at the risk of her life, Melinda traced the menace to the ruined chapel. It was supposed to be abandoned, but what she saw through the windows convinced her that evil dwelt there."
159 pages.
A Paperback Library Edition. Second printing: March, 1970.
Condition is well used. The front top cover corner has been cut. The first inner page is missing the top corner as well. There is a name written on the inside cover. It is yellowed throughout and the spine could is dogeared and could use reinforcing. However, the spine is still holding and it is intact and in readable condition. The price reflects the condition as it is still a relatively rare version/edition of Mystic Manor.
