Dolls have long played a part in human culture. I think the age-less appeal is because there exists no hard line between the doll as a toy or as anything else the owner chooses it to be. They can be decorative or represent cultural heritage. They can be used in teaching or folk magic. Bears feature prominently in fairy tales around the world. This favourite toy usually outlasts childhood even after all other toys have been stored away. He often survives the teen years and beyond!
