Q: What's the difference between Antique and Vintage?
A: Meadow Sweet Grove typically lists items that are 70+ years old (1950s and earlier) as Antique; and items that 20+ years old as Vintage. Antique items whisper to you to save them! Their beauty and craftsmanship should be in the hands of someone who will appreciate and acknowledge their rarity, special needs and utilize them gently. Many are incredibly durable - they lasted this long for a reason! But, due to their age and sometimes the way they were manufactured; many antiques cannot withstand harsh cleaning products, dishwashers or rough treatment. Care needs to be observed to avoid over-winding watches, clocks and toys. Enjoy a walk through the past in this category and come away with an eclectic antique treasure for your unique home! |
